Alaska Thunder Fuck, aka ATF, aka Matanuska Thunder Fuck, aka Matanuska Tundra, is a popular sativa strain from Alaska. The genetics of this strain are badass. Legend has it that it was developed by crossing a California sativa with a Russian ruderalis and later with Afghani. ATF is known for its relaxing effect with a euphoric high. 

ATF relaxes the body and elevates your mood, making it great for combatting stress, anxiety, and depression. This isn’t the type of sativa that is great for getting active. This is more of a rainy day, lounging around the house type of sativa. The only surge you’ll get is to your mood and overall mental health. You can also expect to be more creative. You can also use this strain to stay focused on a task. Unlike most sativas this one tends to take a little longer for the effects to be noticeable — making it a valuable companion for brain-storming, problem solving, working on schoolwork, or battling work deadlines. 

This strain has a woodsy aroma with earthy notes. There is nothing subtle about ATF. The smoke is thick, the scent lingers, and all discretion goes out the window with its pungent aroma. 

I would not recommend ATF to cannabis newcomers. It has an intense name for a reason. Alaska Thunder Fuck is just what you need for staying home. If you prefer indica but need something to get you through the day ATF would be a good choice.
